We are seeking a motivated and experienced Product Owner to join our Data Department.
As a Data Product Owner, you will work closely with both the Data Engineering and Business Intelligence teams. You will play a pivotal role in managing the Data Platform and its various components, ensuring they are scalable, cost-efficient, robust, and reliable. In addition to overseeing the platform, you will also support and participate in Business Intelligence initiatives, aligning them with broader data strategies to deliver actionable insights and drive data-driven decision-making across the GiG.
In collaboration with various stakeholders, you will be responsible for defining and prioritising the product backlog and initiatives within the company roadmap, ensuring the delivery of high-quality data solutions that align with Client needs and Business strategy.
What you’ll be doing:
- Act as the Product Owner, facilitating Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, review, retrospectives) and guiding the teams in following Agile best practices.
- Own the product backlog, and define user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritise tasks based on business value, technical complexity, and urgency.
- Ensure that the backlog is transparent, visible, and aligned with the overall product roadmap.
- Ensure that all tickets raised have clear and unambiguous requirements and acceptance criteria, while agreeing with the team on an accurate definition of done.
- Oversee the development of data tasks, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with different data teams including data engineers, data scientists, business intelligence, and data analysts, to ensure alignment across all objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between technical teams and stakeholders, facilitating clear and effective communication.
- Liaise with other Product Owners across GiG to identify any cross domain requirements and collaborate together to ensure that high quality end-to-end solutions are delivered.
- Own and manage the Product Roadmap for your data verticals.
- Ensure that the teams’ priorities are in line with the Data Platform vision and Strategic Roadmap, and in line with the overall priorities as set by the Director of Product.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements, translating them into actionable features and technical requirements.
- Manage stakeholders’ expectations and assist them to develop business cases that align with GiG’s strategic initiatives.
- Conduct release planning and update stakeholders with the status of deliverables.
- Build business requirement documentation, and ensure sign-off on requirements and solutions, before development starts and launch to market.
- Monitor the performance of data products and identify opportunities for optimisation, scalability, and automation.
- Research and analyse the market, ensuring that products always remain competitive.
Requirements
- Someone with a passion for iGaming and the technology that powers the online gaming industry.
- Skilled at defining and prioritising product features, and proven experience working as a Product Owner and within Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Have an understanding of the role of a Data Platform, in order to be able to channel requests efficiently and deal with stakeholders easily. Strong ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable business deliverables.
- Data-driven mindset and user centric approach to product development and improvement.
- Be fluent in the technologies adopted by the Data Engineering Team (in usability not coding) to be able to provide guidance to stakeholders while providing comprehensive requirements to the Team, ensuring faster and more accurate deliverables.
- Proven experience displaying decision making skills, with the ability to assess business impact, risks and opportunity.
- Demonstrable leadership skills without line management authority and strong sense of ownership.
- Comfortable dealing with stakeholders of varied seniority, from both Commercial and Technical sides of the organisation, and able to clearly articulate vision, goals, and progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, inquisitive mentality and excellent level of detail.
- Someone who can identify problems in the Business that need to be resolved, in order to develop a Product that will add value and reduce risk, ultimately helping GiG have an edge over competition to boost our business.
